OLGA RICHARDSON : OWNER
Olga is an accomplished former competitive dancer with a distinguished international career. Titles include World Professional Latin Finalist (representing the United States), as well as United Kingdom, International, Dutch, and Asian Open “Open to the World” Latin Finalist. Additional honors include Asian Pacific Professional Latin Champion, World Cup Professional Latin Champion, and USA “Open to the World” Professional Latin Champion.
Having started dance training at the age of 5, Olga is originally from St. Petersburg, Russia and is now a U.S. citizen. After relocating first to Houston, then to New York City, Olga returned to Houston in 2013 to open Premier Dance USA.
A qualified member of the Pan American Teachers of Dance, Olga is an accredited Latin coach and competition adjudicator who has judged several official World Dance Council “World Pro-Am Championships.” Since retiring from competition in 2007, Olga has taken on the role of active director at Premier Dance USA—focused on staff development and advancing excellence in both International and American Style Ballroom and Latin dancing.
Previously, Olga Richardson (formerly Rodionova) served as Co-Owner and Director of The New Yorker Social Dance Club and Basic Ballroom NY from 2009 to 2013.
PAUL RICHARDSON: OWNER
Hailing from Australia via the United Kingdom, Paul Richardson brings extensive knowledge of the competitive dance world and strong organizational expertise to Premier Dance USA. During a decorated competitive career, titles included 5-time World Pro-Am Champion, World Professional Latin Finalist, British National Professional 10 Dance Champion, British National Professional Latin Champion, and United States “Open to the World” Champion. Competitive retirement came in 2007.
Dance qualifications include membership in the National Association of Teachers of Dancing (UK) and serving as an Examiner for the DVIDA syllabus program in the USA. As Dance Director of the Global Dance Alliance—of which Premier Dance USA is an affiliated member—responsibilities include setting and upholding the highest instructional standards for teachers at Premier Dance USA and its sister studios.
Known for a quick wit and engaging presence, Paul helps make Premier Dance USA a fun and inspiring space for both amateur and professional students. With a passion for the business side of dance, Paul continues to compete in Pro-Am events alongside students while shaping the studio's strategic direction.
Paul Richardson is Co-Owner and Director of Premier Dance USA, Dance Director of the Global Dance Alliance, and a Director of the World Dance Arts Foundation—a nonprofit that brings dance education to up to 4,000 children weekly in schools across the country.
GUENNADI IAKOUNINE : INSTRUCTOR
ANDY VALDEZ: DANCE INSTRUCTOR
Originally from St. Petersburg, Russia, Guennadi Iakounine is a highly experienced and respected teacher and adjudicator.
Beginning a dance journey at a young age, Guennadi became a finalist in numerous competitions throughout the former USSR and Europe before discovering a true passion for teaching. As an instructor, Guennadi led the largest dance club in St. Petersburg, guiding hundreds of young dancers—including Premier Dance USA’s own Olga Richardson (Rodionova). As an adjudicator, Guennadi has officiated at many prestigious dance events across Europe.
In 2000, Guennadi relocated with family to Houston, TX, and has since become a well-known figure in the Houston dance community. For many years, Guennadi has led popular group classes and competed actively in Pro-Am events with students across the country. Known for a thoughtful and adaptable teaching style, Guennadi tailors instruction to meet each student’s individual goals—offering a light, fun approach for social dancers and a more structured path for competitive dancers.
Originally from Central Florida, Andy discovered his love for dance as a teenager through Latin social styles like salsa and bachata. His passion quickly grew into a performance career that included roles with Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, and SeaWorld Orlando.
Andy has trained internationally with companies such as Heartbridge Performing Arts (Hawaii) and the YWAM School of Dance (Costa Rica), receiving classical and contemporary dance instruction. He is currently based in Houston, TX, where he dances with AdDeum Dance Company’s Mentorship Training Program.
In addition to Latin styles, Andy is trained in American Smooth and Rhythm ballroom techniques. With a focus on both performance and connection, he brings energy, musicality, and strong partnering skills to every dance floor.
Dylan was born and raised in Houston, TX, and is the friendly face who helps keep the studio running smoothly. With a B.A. in Drama, a deep passion for the performing arts naturally extends into every aspect of work at the dance studio. When not at the studio, Dylan can be found performing, directing, stage managing, and more at the Company Onstage theatre.
Being part of a creative, expressive environment is what fuels Dylan’s energy. From answering questions and managing schedules to assisting with events and hosting showcases, Dylan is dedicated to making every visit enjoyable and seamless for students—both new and returning.
