Comfort is key! Wear clothing that allows you to move freely - think business casual rather than gym clothes.
For clothing:
Comfortable pants, skirts, or dresses that won't restrict movement
Avoid overly loose or baggy clothing that might get in the way
Layers are great since you might warm up as you move
For shoes:
Ladies: Low heels or flats with smooth soles (avoid rubber soles)
Gentlemen: Dress shoes or smooth-soled shoes
Avoid: Sneakers, running shoes, or anything with rubber/grip soles (they stick to the floor and can cause injury)
Don't have the right shoes? No problem! We'll recommend where to find great dance shoes locally, or you can even dance in socks during your first lesson.
Most importantly: Wear something that makes you feel confident and ready to have fun!
-
Absolutely not! Over 60% of our students start without a partner, and we have both male and female instructors ready to dance with you.
Already have a partner who wants to learn? Perfect! You can take lessons together and we'll teach both of you simultaneously.
For Private Lessons: Your instructor will be your partner, providing expert guidance while you learn. This is actually ideal for beginners because you're learning from a professional who can lead you through each step perfectly.
For Group Classes: We rotate partners throughout the class, so you'll get to dance with multiple people and experience different leading/following styles. It's a great way to build confidence and meet fellow dance enthusiasts!
The bottom line: Whether you're single, married, or somewhere in between, we'll make sure you have an amazing dance experience. Your first lesson will prove that dancing is about joy, not about having the "perfect" partner!
-
Great question! The answer depends on your goals, but here's what most of our students experience:
For Wedding Couples:
6-8 lessons for a beautiful, confident first dance
10-15 lessons if you want to wow your guests with something special
*For the smoothest results, keep your lessons close together—think once or twice a week—so the steps stay fresh, your rhythm grows naturally, and you feel relaxed and confident when you take the floor.
For Social Dancing:
8-12 lessons to feel comfortable at parties and events
15-20 lessons to dance confidently with various partners
For Personal Enjoyment:
Many students continue for years because they love the exercise, social aspect, and constant learning!
Lesson Frequency:
Once per week is perfect for steady progress
Twice per week accelerates learning significantly
Every other week works for busy schedules (though progress is slower)
Here's the truth: Most students see noticeable improvement after just 3-4 lessons and feel confident enough to show off their moves after 8-10 sessions. Your instructor will create a personalized plan based on your specific goals and timeline.

Private Lessons: Your Fast Track to Confidence
Best for:
Complete beginners who want individual attention
Wedding couples preparing for their first dance
Anyone with specific goals or timeline
Students who prefer personalized pace
Benefits:
Learn 3x faster with undivided instructor attention
Customize every minute to your needs
No pressure from other students
Perfect for shy or nervous beginners
Group Classes: Fun, Social Learning
Best for:
Meeting fellow dance enthusiasts
Practicing with different partners
More affordable option
Social, party-like atmosphere
Benefits:
Learn alongside others at similar skill levels
Build confidence dancing with multiple partners
Make new friends who share your passion
Experience the energy of group learning
Our Recommendation: Combine Both!
The winning formula: Start with 3-4 private lessons to build your foundation and confidence, then add group classes for variety and social dancing practice. This combination gives you the fastest progress and the most fun!
Many students discover: Private lessons teach you the skills, group classes teach you to use them in real-world situations.
Want to try both? Ask about our combination packages that save you money while maximizing your progress!
-
For most students, we recommend starting with Private Lessons - here's why:
Start with Private Lessons if you:
Have never danced before (most beginners!)
Feel nervous or self-conscious about learning
Are preparing for a wedding or special event
Want to learn quickly and efficiently
Prefer individual attention and customized instruction
Why this works: Private lessons build your confidence and foundation in a pressure-free environment. Once you know the basics, group classes become much more enjoyable!
Start with Group Classes if you:
Have some dance experience already
Love social, high-energy environments
Want to meet new people through dancing
Are comfortable learning alongside others
Prefer a more budget-friendly option
The Premier Dance USA Recommendation:
Begin with 2-3 private lessons to learn fundamentals and gain confidence, then add group classes for practice and social dancing. This combination gives you:
✅ Solid foundation from private instruction
✅ Real-world practice in group settings
✅ Maximum confidence on any dance floor
✅ Best value for your investmentStill not sure? Your $39 introductory private lesson will help us recommend the perfect learning path for your goals, personality, and timeline.

This is our most common concern, and here's the truth: YES, you absolutely can learn!
The "two left feet" myth: Over 80% of our students start by saying this exact thing. Six months later, they're dancing confidently at weddings and social events, wondering why they waited so long to start.
Here's what we know after 15+ years of teaching:
Rhythm can be learned - We'll teach you to feel the music
Coordination improves quickly - Usually within 3-4 lessons
Everyone progresses - We've never had a student who couldn't learn
Age doesn't matter - We've taught students from 8 to 80+
Our secret: We break everything down into simple, manageable steps. No student is ever overwhelmed or left behind. Your instructor will work at YOUR pace until every movement feels natural.
Real student quote:"I was convinced I couldn't dance. Now I'm the first one on the dance floor at every party!" - Jennifer M., Houston
